We have up to 27 bed spaces spread over 4 rooms.

“Annan” bunkhouse has 8 beds, “Esk” bunkhouse has 6 beds, “Lower Nith” has 6 beds and “Upper Nith” has 4 beds – potentially 5 if there's one person who is only 5'6”!!!!! There is also a double bed settee to give another 2 in the lounge of “Nith”.

All the bunkhouses have bunks with the exception of Upper Nith (which has single beds – 2 can be put together to make a huge double bed!).

Nith bunkhouse has a cosy lounge with a gas fire for those chilly evenings when you can gather round and chat.

To make it easier on Mum and Dad we can also provide a cot and a bed guard for families. We have a highchair, books, toys and games which you are welcome to use.

Bottom sheet, pillow and pillowcase are provided. Duvets and bath towels are available to hire.

Sauna and Hot Tub

In the grounds we have an authentic Swedish Sauna which many of our clients think is an ideal way to relax after a hard day in the saddle or wandering in the woods. Just lets us know what time you would like to use it and we'll get it lit ready for you. Currently under construction is a natural spring water hot tub, changing area and shower with a difference!

Directions • Head out of Dumfries on the Solway Coast road (A710) towards New Abbey, passing through the village of Islesteps.
• 1.65 miles after the bridge following 30mph sign in Islesteps take the turning up to the right marked Mabie Forest and Mabie House Hotel.
• Follow the road up until you get to the sign for Mabie House Hotel, bear left and follow the signs for “Marthrown of Mabie Education Centre” between a white building and a wooden one, past the bike hire shop and through the gate onto the forest track (Speed limit 15mph).
• Proceed up the track for exactly a mile where you will find us on the left.
